Veteran's Club at Westpark Village

The Westpark Village Veteran’s Club meets quarterly and anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend. It is a wonderful group, and we traditionally have many guests and residents that attend each event.

Meetings start with lunch, and are followed by a guest speaker. We have had the privilege of hearing some very interesting guest speakers, shared military trivia and held open forums for sharing and general discussion. The response to the club has been tremendous! It gives our Veterans a chance to talk with one another, share stories and commemorate a unique time in American history. It is such an honor for us to host the group— it gives us at Westpark Village a chance to honor their service to our country. Our residents and guests are so proud of their service, and they share the most amazing stories of courage, valor and commitment.

Financial Assistance for Veterans - Let us help!

Financial assistance is available for Veterans at Westpark Village with the following criteria:

Service

  • Military veteran serving at least 90 days
  • Must have had at least one day of service fall during a time of combat (not necessary to be involved in combat)
  • Honorable Discharge
  • Also available for spouse or widow of such Veteran

Financial

  • Assets must not exceed $80,000 (primary residence not included)
  • Majority of monthly income is being used for health care/senior housing

Health

  • No longer able to live at home due to health care needs
  • Physician prescribed assisted living or skilled nursing
  • Need help with at least two of the following:

    - Medication assistance
    - Bathing assistance
    - Dressing
    - Ambulation
    - Toileting

Documentation

  • Income and financial assets
  • Physician report
  • Discharge record
  • Statement of care from Westpark Village
  • Marriage certificate for spouse

These are the minimum qualifications listed by the Veteran's Administration. The Veteran's Aid and Attendance Program is separate from VA Medical benefits or medical coverage due to disability and does not supersede Medical assistance. Westpark Village does not guarantee funding.
